Audit Challenge

This manufacturing, logistics, and distribution company wanted a way to track fleet maintenance for each of their 5,900 trucks and safety compliance for 8,000 truck drivers.

Solution

The company implemented Compas Pocket PC Edition and Compas Web Edition to facilitate this operational assessment challenge.

Results

• Initial rollout used to monitor fleet maintenance at various depots with 3 assessment types
• Discovered that frequent breakdowns were attributed to drivers not completing mandatory pre- and post-trip inspections and not reporting equipment issues to supervisors; established targeted awareness program to correct this issue
• Identified problem with third-party maintenance vendor, prompting shift to in-house vehicle maintenance
• Currently managing over 2,000 users and 9 assessment types
